Celebration of the Arts 2026

An inspiring evening showcasing the creativity and talent of Year 8 pupils

The Celebration of the Arts 2026 was an evening dedicated to recognising creativity, commitment and artistic expression across Art, Drama and Music.

The event celebrated the hard work and enthusiasm of fourteen Year 8 pupils, all of whom are hoping to gain an award to their chosen senior school in Art, Drama or Music. Guests were welcomed with drinks and invited to explore four distinctive art portfolios, engaging directly with the pupils about their creative processes and ideas. This informal setting provided valuable experience for the pupils as they prepared for upcoming interviews, helping to build confidence and communication skills.

The audience gathered to enjoy a programme of drama and music performances. Drama pupils delivered a wide range of monologues, from powerful and intense pieces to moments of light-hearted humour, all performed with assurance and emotional maturity. These were interwoven with musical recitals that showcased impressive technical skill and vocal talent, with performances ranging from jazz saxophone and a romantic cello waltz to contemporary and classical piano pieces.

Several pupils took on the additional challenge of performing in both Music and Drama, having entered scholarship assessments in both disciplines during the same week — a remarkable achievement.

The evening was a powerful reminder of the dedication, courage and talent of the pupils involved. Regardless of the outcomes of their awards, all should feel immensely proud of what they achieved and the creativity they so confidently shared.
